Therapy for Therapists

"Even the most seasoned hero needs a sanctuary. Your inner hero does not diminish by seeking care; it deepens."

You hold space for everyone. Let us hold space for you.

You have sat with other people's pain, week after week, session after session, absorbing, witnessing, and carrying what your clients bring into the room. You know better than almost anyone that healing requires support. And yet, you may be the last person to ask for it.

What is therapy for therapists?

Therapy for Therapists at Inner Hero Clinic is a confidential, peer-informed therapeutic service designed exclusively for mental health professionals, psychotherapists, counsellors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, coaches, and anyone else who holds a therapeutic role in others' lives.

This is not supervision, consultation, or professional development. This is your therapy, a space where the clinician in you takes a seat, and the human in you gets to be present. Where you do not need to have the language, hold the frame, or manage the process. Where you are simply a person, being cared for by a skilled colleague who understands your world from the inside.

The Inner Hero approach

Our clinicians who work with therapists are deeply versed in the unique relational dynamics of the therapeutic profession. We hold a nuanced understanding of what it means to carry vicarious trauma, navigate complex transference and countertransference, and maintain a personal self while professionally embodying presence for others.

We also understand the particular loneliness of being a therapist, the way professional confidentiality can create personal isolation, the difficulty of discussing your own struggles in spaces where you are always cast as the expert, and the guilt that can arise when your own nervous system starts showing the cost of the work you love.

Sessions are structured by your needs entirely. There is no expectation that you come in with insight, self-awareness, or clarity. You may arrive depleted, confused, or simply exhausted. That is exactly what this space is for.

WHAT WE WORK WITH

Compassion fatigue & clinical burnout.

The cumulative weight of holding others' trauma is real and clinically significant. We help you identify early signs, process what has accumulated, and rebuild sustainable capacity for the work you are called to do.

Transference & countertransference.

Some client relationships stir something deep and unexpected. Whether it is an attachment activation, a grief response, a boundary challenge, or a relationship dynamic that mirrors your own history, this is a safe space to unpack it without professional consequence.

Your own therapeutic journey.

Many therapists entered the profession through their own healing path, and that path did not end when they got their designation. Your personal growth, unresolved attachment patterns, family-of-origin work, and relational history all deserve the same attentive, skilled care you offer your own clients.

Vicarious trauma & secondary traumatic stress.

When your clients' experiences begin to live in your body, disrupting your sleep, your sense of safety, or your worldview, that is not weakness. That is evidence that you are fully human. We help you process and discharge what your nervous system has absorbed.

Professional identity & career transitions.

Whether you are considering a shift in practice, navigating a difficult client termination, processing a clinical mistake, or questioning your fit within the profession, these are legitimate therapeutic concerns that deserve space.

Personal life, off the clock.

Relationship challenges, grief, identity struggles, anxiety, life transitions, therapists live full, complex lives beyond their practice. You deserve support for all of it, without the performance of professional competence.

Effectiveness & impact

Research is unequivocal: therapists who receive their own therapy are more effective clinicians. They demonstrate greater self-awareness, stronger therapeutic alliance, reduced countertransference reactivity, and significantly lower rates of burnout and early career departure. Seeking therapy is not a sign that you are struggling to cope. It is evidence that you understand what good care actually requires.

At Inner Hero Clinic, working with therapists is something we consider a profound professional honor. Your work in the world matters enormously, and you matter, not just as a practitioner, but as a person. We will meet you with the same depth, rigor, and care that you bring to your own clients. You deserve nothing less.

All sessions are strictly confidential. We do not communicate with licensing bodies, employers, or professional associations. This is your space, held by someone who understands exactly what it means to do this work, and who believes deeply in its worth.
