Group Therapy

"Sometimes the inner hero awakens not in solitude, but in the mirror of another person's courage."

You are not alone in this. You never were..

There is a particular kind of healing that happens only in community, when you hear someone else give words to the thing you have carried in silence, and something inside you finally exhales. Group therapy at Inner Hero Clinic is that experience.

What is group therapy?

Group therapy is a structured, clinician-facilitated therapeutic experience where a small group of individuals, carefully matched by shared experience or presenting concern, come together to heal in community. It is not a support group or a drop-in class. It is evidence-based therapy, delivered in a group format, where the relationships within the group are themselves part of the healing process.

At Inner Hero Clinic, all groups are closed-enrollment, meaning members join together and complete the program together, creating the safety and trust that deep work requires. Groups are kept intentionally small (6–10 members) and are facilitated by our senior clinicians.

The Inner Hero approach

Our groups are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in evidence-based facilitation. We create groups where every voice matters, silence is honored, and no one is ever pushed to share before they are ready. Our facilitators hold the space with both clinical skill and genuine warmth, ensuring that the group becomes a container strong enough for real vulnerability.

Inner Hero NARC Reset™️

Open to men & women — 8-week closed group — facilitated by a registered psychotherapist

If you have loved someone who made you question your own reality, minimized your pain, or left you feeling like a shell of who you used to be, this group was created for you. The Inner Hero NARC Reset Group brings together survivors of narcissistic and emotional abuse in a confidential, non-judgmental space to name what happened, understand the trauma bond, and begin rebuilding a sense of self that belongs entirely to them.

Using a psychoeducational and process-group model, sessions move through phases: understanding the abuse cycle, recognizing trauma responses, nervous system recovery, identity reconstruction, and building a life grounded in your own values. Both men and women groups run separately; we know narcissistic abuse does not discriminate.

Carry on: Grief & loss group

Co-ed — 6-week closed group — facilitated by a registered psychotherapist

Grief is not a problem to be solved. It is a love that has nowhere left to go. The Carry On Group honors that, creating a space where grief is not rushed, minimized, or given an expiry date. Members come together around every form of loss: the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, the loss of a version of yourself, the grief of estrangement, or the quiet mourning of dreams that did not come true.

Sessions are co-educational and process-oriented, drawing on Worden's Tasks of Mourning, Narrative approaches, and somatic grounding practices. You will not be told to "move on." You will be helped to carry your grief differently, with more grace, more support, and a community that truly understands.

Open heart, open eyes: Dating readiness group

Open to men & women — 5-week closed group — facilitated by a registered psychotherapist

Stepping back into dating after heartbreak, trauma, divorce, or a long absence from romantic relationships is more than finding the right app or profile photo. It requires understanding your patterns, your worth, and what you are actually available for. The Open Heart, Open Eyes Group helps you do exactly that, in a safe, candid, and often surprisingly joyful space.

This group is for anyone who wants to date with intention rather than anxiety, who wants to break old cycles, identify their non-negotiables, and enter the dating world as a person who knows who they are. Sessions cover attachment styles in dating, setting healthy expectations, recognizing red flags early, building self-trust, and the emotional risks of vulnerability, approached with humor, honesty, and real tools.

Effectiveness & impact

Research consistently demonstrates that group therapy is as effective as individual therapy for many presenting concerns, and for some, more so. The experience of being witnessed, of hearing your own story in someone else's words, and of supporting another person's healing accelerates the therapeutic process in ways that one-on-one work alone cannot replicate.

At Inner Hero Clinic, our groups are never overflow containers or cost-cutting measures. They are intentionally designed therapeutic experiences led by our most skilled facilitators, clinicians who understand that holding a group well is one of the most demanding and most rewarding things a therapist can do.

Meet Vrushalee Nachar

"Your boundaries are for YOU to uphold, NOT for others to follow"

Vrushalee Nachar, Registered Psychotherapist

Vrushalee is a Registered Psychotherapist, and Clinical Director at the Inner Hero Clinic and one of Ontario's most sought-after voices on narcissistic abuse reset. Since 2024, she has dedicated a significant portion of her practice to facilitating the Narcissistic Abuse Reset group therapy, a program she designed with precision, compassion, and deep clinical grounding.

Her approach is rare: warm enough to make you feel genuinely seen, and direct enough to give you the clarity you've been desperately searching for. Clients describe her ability to reframe patterns they've carried for years in a single session, paradigm shifts that finally make the pieces fall into place.

She understands that narcissistic abuse doesn't just hurt feelings. It dismantles your sense of reality, your self-worth, and your trust in yourself. Her work is dedicated to helping you rebuild all three, from a deeply informed, permanently changed place.

— THE PROGRAM

Eight sessions that change everything

Inner Hero NARC Reset™️Group follows a structured, phased model, moving through the full arc of recovery. Each session is both psychoeducational and deeply therapeutic, combining clinical insight with practical tools you can use immediately.

01 Name What Happened

Begin to put language to the experiences you may have long second-guessed. Understanding manipulation cycles, gaslighting, and coercive control is the first act of reclamation.

03 Recognize the Impact

Identify how prolonged emotional manipulation has registered in your mental, emotional, and physical states. Learn to distinguish your authentic self from the adapted self that was shaped by the relationship.

04 Practical Strategies & Tools

Gain evidence-based, immediately applicable tools: boundary-setting from a place of truth rather than defense, communication strategies, and frameworks for navigating future dynamics with clarity.

05 Nervous System Recovery

Chronic abuse dysregulates the nervous system. Learn body-based practices that support regulation, rest, and the rebuilding of a felt sense of safety, from the inside out.

02 Understand the Trauma Bond

Explore why these relationships are so powerful and so difficult to leave, not because you are weak, but because you were targeted. The science of attachment and trauma bonding brings clarity that replaces shame.

06 Emotional Regulation

Dive deep into ALL those emotions that have been suppressed owing to the dismissals, denials and minimizations on a constant basis. Create a safe space for yourself to engage with them.

07 Self-Compassion & Self-Care

Beginning the healthy habits to expend the same kindness, compassion and understanding you shower on others, expended towards yourself. Practical strategies to initiate real-world agency of your mind, body and emotions.

08 Reclaim Self-Worth & Agency

Rebuild confidence and self-esteem not as a performance, but as a living reality. Emerge from the program with a stable, informed foundation, equipped for whatever comes next.

★★★★★

"The sessions led me to learning about power and control, coercive control, and the various tactics to look out for. My eyes are more open to the impact of certain behaviors than prior to the group. It's time for me to work on healing using the tools and exercises provided, I'd like to solidify the foundation first.”

You may belong here, if you recognize this

You've loved someone who made you question your own reality, memory, or perception.

You've felt like a shell of who you used to be, and aren't sure how to get back.

You know something was wrong but struggle to name it, or were told you were "too sensitive."

You feel ready to understand, heal, and begin rebuilding from an informed place.

You are a man or woman, narcissistic abuse does not discriminate, and neither does this group.

A Closed, Safe Container

Trauma-Informed & Culturally Responsive

Therapist holds the space with clinical skill and genuine warmth. Every voice matters. Silence is honored. You will never be pushed to share before you are ready.
